CZU Fire Rebuild, Solar Home
From Fire-Damaged House to Dream Home: A Phoenix Rising in Boulder Creek
In the aftermath of the devastating CZU Fire, we undertook the challenge of rebuilding a fire-damaged house – a cherished family home that was completely destroyed. Where melted aluminum windows once lay in pools on the ground, we envisioned and created a stunning custom residence that not only restored what was lost but elevated the original design to new heights of luxury and functionality.
A Fire-Damaged House: The Challenge and Vision
Working within strict insurance budget constraints, our team meticulously planned a residence that preserved the beloved features of the original home while incorporating thoughtful improvements. The design maintained the same generous square footage and open floor plan concept, but with strategically reconfigured rooms and expanded deck spaces that maximize the property’s potential.
Engineering Excellence and Environmental Stewardship
Our commitment to excellence demanded extensive civil engineering solutions to address post-fire challenges. We implemented sophisticated debris flow prevention systems and enhanced drainage solutions to ensure long-term stability. The project required thorough environmental remediation, with our team overseeing multiple rounds of soil testing and cleanup to create a safe, pristine building site.
A Fire-Damaged House: Custom Design Elements
The rebuilt home features an expansive open-concept layout that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living spaces. Large windows flood the interior with natural light, while expanded deck areas provide perfect venues for entertaining and enjoying the serene Boulder Creek setting. Every detail was carefully considered to balance luxury with practicality, creating a home that’s both beautiful and highly functional.
Community Integration and Support
This fire-damaged house project represented more than just a rebuild – it became a symbol of resilience for the Boulder Creek community. Working closely with utility districts, local authorities, and neighbors, we navigated complex permitting requirements and infrastructure challenges to deliver a home that stands as a testament to expert craftsmanship and unwavering determination.
This previously fire damaged house is 2200 sq ft, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The design and permit were by Chad Williams designer-builder.
Construction by Jeff Meyers, Builder.
